T&H Steel: Precision Crafted, Industry Driven.
TH Steel is a stainless steel fabrication workshop in Bayan Lepas Industrial Park, Penang, established 1977. We cut, form, weld and finish stainless steel parts to the customer's drawing, all in one building. Our Industries Served page groups that work by what the parts are for. This page groups it by who is asking, and from where.
Two groups of buyers have their own pages at the moment. The first is facility, M&E and equipment teams on semiconductor sites in Penang and Kulim. The second is Korean manufacturers looking for a second source outside Korea. Their situations are different, so their questions are different too. Both are covered below, with answers to the questions a buyer usually wants settled before sending a drawing.
Frames, enclosures, brackets, ducting and fixtures made locally, with no freight or customs step.
MoreOverflow and second-source fabrication, quoted in English by a workshop established 1977.
MoreIn the first half of 2026, approved manufacturing investment in Penang was RM 17.3 billion. According to the state's account of that figure, about 69 percent came from companies expanding plants that are already here. So the work is not only in new factories. It is also in extra production bays, new tool lines and service corridors.
The metalwork around those projects is rarely the equipment itself. It is the frames, enclosures, brackets, pipe supports, panels and fixtures that have to be on the floor when the tool or the duct run is ready. An install window does not move because a support is still at sea.
A workshop in Bayan Lepas takes the freight and customs steps out of that. When a drawing changes, the revision goes to a shop you can drive to. That only helps if the local quote states the grade, the finish and the tolerance, so the part passes incoming inspection the first time.
The Penang and Kulim page lists the parts we make for these sites. Our article on the metalwork around a new Penang plant covers the pieces a machine maker usually leaves out of its scope.
Korean companies are now building in Malaysia, not only selling to it. In July 2026, K-Test started building its first Southeast Asian plant in Perak, a wafer and chip testing site reported at about RM 200 million. We have no connection with K-Test. We mention it because it shows where Korean supply chains are heading.
The case we can help with is overflow. That might be a drawing pack a Korean shop cannot take in the window you have, or a repeat part you want quoted by a second supplier. It is not a promise of a cheaper copy of work your current supplier already does well.
Two facts belong at the top, not in the small print. We have not yet completed an export shipment to Korea, so you would be qualifying a new supplier. We also quote and write in English only. Malaysia is one hour behind Korea, so most of the working day overlaps.
The Korea page sets out how a first export enquiry would run, and there is a Korean version of it. Our article on which drawings should stay in Korea explains which parts are worth sending abroad, and which are not.
Some markets do not have their own page yet, but they come up in our Insights articles. One looks at data centre metalwork in Johor, such as platforms, frames and housings. Another explains why a food plant needs its own brief, with different questions from a chip plant.
If your project fits none of these, send the drawing anyway. The workshop is the same, and so are most of the questions.
Whoever the buyer is, the drawing goes through the same building. Cutting is by CNC laser or water jet. Forming is by plate bending or tube bending. Then comes welding and finishing, with milling and turning where a part needs machined features.
Nobody sends the part to a second shop halfway through. So when something is wrong, there is one workshop to answer for it, not three.
We work mainly in 304 and 316/316L stainless steel. 304 suits most indoor frames and supports. 316/316L is the better place to start where chlorides, washdown or a harsher environment are involved. Finishes run from mill to fine brushed, and we work to an Ra value in µm where the drawing gives one.
One-off parts, trial lots and repeat production all run through the same workshop. A trial order is often the most sensible way to start with a new supplier, for us as much as for you.
If your part is bought to a named standard or a customer specification, put it on the drawing pack. We will tell you whether we can meet it before you place an order. We would rather say no than quote for a requirement we cannot meet.
If something is missing, we ask before we quote. That is quicker for both of us than a price built on a guess.

Yes. TH Steel makes equipment frames, enclosures, mounting brackets, gas and fluid line supports, ducting, panels and fixtures for semiconductor facilities in Penang and Kulim. These are the parts around the tools, not the process equipment itself. Send the drawing with the grade, finish and quantity, and we will quote it.
A part made in Penang has no sea freight or customs step between the workshop and the site. When a drawing changes, the revision goes to a workshop nearby rather than one overseas. That matters most when an install date is fixed and a late bracket would hold up the work.
Yes. TH Steel quotes Korean drawing packs for overflow and second-source work, mainly in 304 and 316/316L stainless steel. We have not yet completed an export shipment to Korea, so this would be a new supplier relationship. A trial order is a sensible way to start.
We quote and correspond in English. We do not have Korean-language support in-house. Malaysia is one hour behind Korea and in the same time zone as Singapore, so most of the working day overlaps.
Yes. One-off parts, prototypes and trial lots run through the same workshop as repeat production. A small first order is also a practical way to check fit, finish and communication before a larger one.
We work mainly in 304 and 316/316L stainless steel. 304 suits most indoor frames and supports, and 316/316L is the better choice where chlorides or washdown are involved. Finishes run from mill to fine brushed, and we work to a stated Ra value in µm where the drawing gives one.
Send the standard or customer specification with the drawing, and we will confirm whether we can meet it before you place an order. We will not assign a cleanroom class to a part. Tell us the finish and any surface roughness limit instead, and we will quote against those.
Send the drawing or CAD file, the grade, the finish, the quantity and where the part will be installed. For export work, add the packing method and Incoterm if you know them. If there is no formal drawing, a dimensioned sketch or a photo of an existing part is enough to start.
It depends on the part, the quantity, material supply and how busy the workshop is. We give a timeline with each quote, based on the workload at the time. We would rather give a date we can keep than a standard lead time that slips.
Yes. You are welcome to visit the workshop in Bayan Lepas to see the equipment and the floor before a first order. Get in touch to arrange a time.
Tell us what the part is, where it will be installed and how many you need. We will come back with any questions, a price and a realistic timeline.
